St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane would like to give a warm welcome to our new Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians.

Today we'd like to introduce, Dr Posh*tha De Silva, a Pain Medicine Physician dual-qualified in Pain Medicine and General Practice.

Dr De Silva has experience in occupational medicine and injury management. His special interest areas lie in management of low back pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia and persistent post-surgical pain.

He is also a member of a number of professional associations including Spinal Interventional Society, European Pain Federation, Australian Pain Society and International Association of the Study of Pain (IASP), and holds an academic title with The University of Queensland as a senior lecturer.

Prabhu Murali - Physiotherapist, started at Auslon Medical Group from mid-February 2025.

Prabhu Murali is a highly skilled and compassionate physiotherapist who brings a wealth of clinical expertise to his practice. With a strong academic background, including a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and a Master's degree in Physiotherapy specialising in Sports and Manual Therapy, Prabhu is well-equipped to provide exceptional care to his patients.

Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Prabhu has completed additional training in pain management through the Faculty of Pain Medicine ANZCA. His modules include “The impact and management of psychological factors,” “Making an effective pain diagnosis: a whole person approach,” and “Pharmacology of pain medicine.” In 2024, Prabhu further expanded his skill set by completing the Mulligan Concept Upper Quadrant – Manual Therapy course in Gladstone.

Prabhu's clinical expertise spans a wide range of areas, including pain management, manual therapy, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, balance and gait training, and fall prevention programs. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve their maximum potential by providing personalised, evidence-based treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.

With a deep understanding of the complexities of pain and the various factors that influence it, Prabhu takes a holistic approach to patient care. He believes in the importance of patient education and empowers his patients with knowledge about pain science to help them better understand their conditions and actively participate in their rehabilitation journey.

As a collaborative member of multidisciplinary teams, Prabhu ensures that his patients receive comprehensive and effective care tailored to their specific needs.
