🌙 Melasma: hormonal and inflammatory, driven from the inside. Flared by heat, not just sun.

🩹 Post-breakout marks: pink or purple is vascular, brown is pigment. Different beasts.

Different cause, different pathway. What helps one can aggravate another. It's why "I tried a brightening serum and nothing happened" is the most common thing we hear.

And if it flares every Brisbane summer: once the UV index hits 3 (most days here), SPF is non-negotiable. Overcast days, indoors near windows, all of it. UVA goes straight through glass.

Can pigment be managed in a high-UV climate? Yes. It just starts with knowing which type you're actually dealing with.
