⚠️ NDIS Reform Watch: Sector Concerns Continue
Recent reporting by The Guardian highlighted concerns raised by members of the Government's NDIS Reform Advisory Committee regarding the proposed NDIS reforms.
According to the report, committee members expressed concerns that aspects of the proposed changes could negatively impact people with disability, alter elements of the original intent of the Scheme, and increase decision-making powers held by the Federal Health Minister.
The Australian Human Rights Commission also publicly expressed concerns regarding the consultation timeframe and the potential human rights implications of the proposed reforms.
For organisations operating within the NDIS, this serves as a reminder that reform is not just a policy issue. It may affect areas such as:
• Participant rights
• Planning and continuity of supports
• Evidence and documentation requirements
• Communication with participants
• Choice and control
• Governance and organisational risk management
Regardless of the outcome of legislative reform, organisations should continue to maintain strong governance, clear documentation, effective communication with participants, and practices that support participant rights, safety and quality service delivery.
At Clarity Connect Group, we believe strong governance is essential in an evolving regulatory environment.
Our focus remains on governance, compliance, quality systems and continuous improvement to support safe, accountable and high-quality NDIS service delivery.
Strong governance isn't just about responding to change—it's about being prepared for it.
