We created Amity Place Community Hub for many reasons. One being a place to create, make art, be expressive and utilise the art-making process for exploration, meaning-making, joy, storytelling, connection and healing.

My father inspired my understanding of how art assisted healing in that art-making and story-telling as a tool, helped him to express and relieve some of the anguish he carried from being a teenager living in Germany during WW2.

This also inspired me to study art therapy.

Making things with our hands, allowing our mind to relax and to experiment with flow, shapes, colours, textures, movement, patterns, symbolism and allowing feelings to flow into the making process - is a therapeutic process we can all engage with.

Making Mondays is a space to allow and encourage us to get creative, start the week with calm and flow and let ourselves enjoy and just be.

Each week we'll allow ourselves to do something different, or do the same, it's whatever you would like to do with your time. Bring your own projects or use materials provided. This is your time and space, to be and create.

Let's Make Mondays enjoyable. Let's get creative.

I’ve been quiet in this creative space for a little while, and starting in 2026 with a new venue, inspiration and focus, I’ll be facilitating a range of workshops, activities and events in the Community Hub soon to open and run by Amity Place.

Keep an eye out for regular creative workshops, some fundraising activities and groups that support mental health and well-being.

Amity Place is opening a Community Hub - Blaker Road, Keperra and is inviting you to be a part of it.

This new space will be host to a multitude of services, activities and events and promotes the foundation of why we created our service to: connect ~ care ~ create.

The Hub will have an abundance of boutique thrift items {clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, jewellery} and vintage items by the fabulous The Click-Clack Lounge.

The store space will promote and support local creatives, artists, businesses and fellow community-members who would like to showcase and sell their products.

In addition, the Hub will provide venue hire for local businesses, community groups, activities, workshops and events.

100% of the proceeds from the thrift store and a percentage of sales from the vintage and communtiy / creative / small business products and venue hire, will provide the much needed funding for Amity Place's support and services for people affected by domestic and family violence.

If you are interested in being a part of our hub and would like to send an expression of interest, please email us your contact and business details, a brief description and photos of your products or services, and we will provide you with more information.

🔹 Approaching mental health conversations with confidence
