I think many women are praised for carrying too much.
- Holding everything together.
- Being the dependable one.
- Showing up for everyone.
- Managing the family.
- Leading at work.
- Keeping all the invisible plates spinning.
And because we’re capable… people just assume we’re okay.
But being capable and being well are not the same thing.
Strength is admirable.
But constant self-neglect isn’t.
Somewhere along the way, many women learned that asking for nothing and carrying everything was a sign of strength.
🔸 I’m not sure that’s wisdom.
I think true strength also knows:
- When to pause.
- When to reset.
- When to recognise that your wellbeing matters too.
