A good consultation should feel like a conversation, not a sales pitch.

We ask a lot of questions before we touch anyone's hair. About your lifestyle, your routine, how much time you actually want to spend getting ready in the morning - not how much you think you're supposed to. About what you've tried before and why it didn't quite work. About what you actually want versus what you think is possible.

And then we listen. Really listen. Not to wait for a gap to recommend something, but to understand.

That's what a consultation is for. Not to upsell. To get it right.

What does your hair actually need right now - and are you listening to it?

As we head into the cooler months, it's worth pausing on this one.

Winter does real things to hair - to moisture levels, to scalp health, to the way colour holds. And the products and routines that worked through summer might not be what your hair is asking for anymore.

The thing is, hair rarely goes from fine to damaged overnight. It sends signals. Small ones, at first - a bit more frizz, a little less shine, ends that feel different to the touch.

The question is whether we slow down enough to notice.

What we wish we could say to every first-time client before they walk in the door.

Hey. You've found us - and we're really glad you did.

First things first: there's no such thing as a dumb question here. You can show us a photo that's a completely different texture to your hair. You can say "I don't actually know what I want." You can tell us you've had a bad experience somewhere else and you're a little nervous. We're used to all of it, and none of it will make us think less of you.

What we will do: listen properly. Take our time. Tell you honestly what's achievable and what isn't. And make sure you leave feeling like yourself - or maybe a version of yourself you've been wanting to meet.

The chair is yours. No rush, no judgement.
