π¨ Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the NDIS Providers Round Table, hosted by the incredible Kylie Ditchburn from Devoted Supports. It was a genuinely valuable event filled with honest conversation, sector transparency, and a shared commitment to strengthening the disability support landscape. πΈ
π A major focus of the round table was the significant NDIS changes expected over the next 6 months to 2 years. As providers, we openly discussed the issues and concerns weβre already seeing participants face β and what is yet to come. These changes will impact how supports are delivered, how services collaborate, and how we advocate for safe, ethical, participantβcentred care. πΉ
π One of the most concerning upcoming changes relates to SIL community access, where individual CAS hours may be absorbed into SIL ratio supports. This could mean participants being expected to attend personal appointments with housemates β a shift that raises serious questions about autonomy, dignity, and personalised support. These conversations matter, and itβs crucial that we raise awareness and amplify participant voices now. πΌ
π What stood out most yesterday was the strength of community. Providers coming together not to compete, but to collaborate, share knowledge, and raise the bar across the sector. Transparency, accountability, and integrity were at the heart of every discussion.
It was so lovely meeting everyone in attendance, including:
