When should I see a Naturopath?
Naturopathy takes a preventative, whole-person approach, looking at digestion, hormones, stress and skin as connected systems rather than separate problems, and tracing symptoms back to what’s actually driving them.
1. Digestive symptoms that wont resolve
Bloating, reflux, irregular bowel habits, food reactions, or ongoing nausea particularly when tests have come back clear but the symptoms haven’t resolved. Gut function has flow on effects on immunity, inflammation and nutrient absorption so it’s often the first place worth investigating.
2. Hormonal and menstrual health
Irregular or painful cycles, PMS, acne tied to your cycle, PCOS, fertility and preconception planning, or the shifts that come with perimenopause. Hormones are influenced heavily by liver function, gut health, blood sugar balance and stress load, so addressing one in isolation rarely tells the full story.
3. Pregnancy and preconception care
Naturopaths can support nutrient status, energy and general wellbeing in the lead-up to and during pregnancy, working alongside your GP and obstetric care rather than replacing it.
4. Skin that isn’t responding to topical treatment
Acne, eczema, rosacea or ongoing congestion can have drivers well beneath the surface. Inflammation, hormonal signalling or an imbalanced gut microbiome are common contributors, especially when creams alone only help temporarily.
5. Stress, low mood and energy that doesn’t add up
Persistent fatigue, poor stress resilience, sleep disruption, or a flat mood even when standard bloodwork looks normal.
6. Childrens health and general family wellbeing
From fussy eating and digestive complaints to immune support, naturopathy can offer gentle, food-first approaches suited to kids as well as adults.
Melissa focuses on finding the underlying driver rather than just managing the symptom, using a mix of nutrition, dietary advice, herbal medicine and targeted supplementation built around your specific case.
If you’ve been told your results are “normal” but you still don’t feel like yourself, that gap is when Naturopathy can help.
