We were proud to be part of the Impact Boom's Brisbane Social Enterprise Tour this week, welcoming a fantastic group of purpose‑led leaders to our Eagle Farm site. 🤩

Starting at Boronia Brew, visitors learned about our food and hospitality services before heading through our advanced metal fabrication and supply chain spaces – where the group saw our work up close and learn more about what we do. 👏

From metal fabrication to packaging, processing and food production, it was a great opportunity to share how our work creates meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability. 🚀

Thanks to everyone who joined us and brought such a thoughtful and engaged energy to the day. ❤️

Help Enterprises welcomes the proposed reforms to Australia’s employment services system following today’s announcement at the National Press Club.

We embrace any program reform that prioritises tailored, individual support for vulnerable people in our community. This person-centred approach is already embedded in how we deliver Inclusive Employment Australia, creating meaningful pathways to work by focusing on individual strengths and goals.

As the system evolves, we welcome the opportunity to consult with the Australian Government through the "Shaping the future of employment services" Discussion Paper. We look forward to contributing our expertise and aligning future national services with the successful outcomes we deliver across all programs.

After 14 years as Group CEO of IntoWork, Poul Bottern has recently tendered his resignation, effective from the end of June this year, as he pursues other business interests.

The Board of IntoWork would like to acknowledge and thank Poul for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication, expertise and strategic guidance over the past 14 years, building IntoWork into the large, respected and leading provider in the sector it is today.

Given Poul’s focus over the coming weeks to ensure an effective handover including working with our Boards on governance matters, we have appointed Christine Zechowski as Acting Group CEO, whilst we recruit for an ongoing Group CEO. Christine has been with IntoWork for many years, including as Group Chief Commercial Officer. She is joined by a strong Executive team and experienced CEOs, so IntoWork is in good hands.

In communicating with Staff, Poul noted: It has been a pleasure and privilege to lead IntoWork with the Board and Leadership Team. My highlights have been many, from our growth of 125 to 2,600 skilled staff, expansion across Australia and New Zealand, and increasing services for the most marginalised and disadvantaged members of our community. However, the largest highlight for me has been the pleasure of working with the fantastic group of people within IntoWork as well as our business partners and the broader sectors we engage with!

We thank Poul for his significant contribution and wish him and his family the very best for the future.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve launched our new Inclusive Employment Australia Steering Committee – a space where participants can share their voice and help shape the support they receive. 🤩

At Help, we know the best way to improve what we do is by listening to the people who experience it every day. This committee brings participants together to share ideas, provide feedback, and contribute to real and meaningful improvements across our service. 👏

Whether it’s building confidence, influencing change, or connecting with others, this is an opportunity to be part of something that makes a difference – for yourself and for others. 🚀

If you’re an Inclusive Employment Australia participant and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Because your voice matters.

Our Bin Chicken Bin Project has now come full circle. 🤩

With the help of our community, we were able to bring this initiative to life – and thanks to Olivia who nominated Aspley Special School, we’ve now delivered a brand-new bin enclosure to the school. ♻️

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the competition and helped make this possible. 👏

Congratulations to Aspley Special School – we hope this new addition not only supports recycling efforts, but also encourages conversations around inclusion and opportunities for people with disability. 💚

📽️ Take a look at how it all came together in the video below.

If it’s metal, we can make it. 🛠️ We’d love to support more schools with bin enclosures like this.

We’re excited to celebrate another huge moment for Damian! 💫

Remember that after months of building his skills and confidence during his Work Experience placement at Limelight Cinema, he was offered a three-month paid contract?

Following a successful period, Damian’s hard work was recognised once again – with an offer of permanent ongoing employment! 👏

🗨️ “Damian continued to show self-motivation, initiative, and a positive attitude at every shift,” shares his Employment Coach, Alex. “He progressed to the point where he no longer needed on-the-job support – he was ready to take on shifts and instructions independently, and it was incredible to see.”

As Damian continues to grow in his role, he and Alex have identified areas for further development, including customer interaction, money‑handling skills and travel training. He’s also exploring driving lessons after recently obtaining his learner licence. 🚗

🗨️ “I want to be able to get to places I haven’t been before,” Damian shares.

Congratulations, Damian, we couldn’t be prouder. ❤️

To celebrate Damian’s full journey, we brought his story together in one place, sharing how each step helped open the door to the next 👉 https://bit.ly/41WK7zS
