Meet Ann Marie, NRG's occupational therapist.
Ann Marie brings over 30 years of experience, from working as a clinician at the Broken Hill Health Service, to mentoring occupational therapy students through the University Department of Rural Health.
Although she specialises in paediatrics, Ann Marie has experience working with clients of all ages in a variety of different settings including hospitals, clinics and schools⭐️
Ann Marie can help individuals of all ages who face physical, mental, developmental, or emotional challenges to:
✅Regain or improve functional abilities
✅Adapt environments or tasks to support independence
✅Develop skills for daily living and participation
✅Enhance quality of life through purposeful activity
Ann Marie can help children by providing support to:
🖐️ Develop fine motor skills – cutting, drawing, pencil grip, buttons and zippers
🏃 Build gross motor skills – balance, coordination, and body awareness
🎨 Learn through play and social interaction – turn-taking, sharing, joining in with peers
🧩 Improve attention and emotional regulation – focus, following instructions, managing big feelings
👕 Increase independence – self-care, dressing, eating, toileting
🌈Manage sensory needs – coping with noise, touch, movement, and change
🏫 Prepare for school readiness - managing transitions and routines, confidence, and concentrating in group/classroom settings
Ann Marie currently has capacity to accept new patients through NDIS, Medicare Chronic Care Plans or privately. Sessions can be conducted at out clinic or at schools/preschools if required.
