Oral Herpes (aka Cold Sores) are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus, they are blisters around the mouth and nose that are easily transmitted from person to person.
🔹The Herpes simplex virus is very
common, with up to 90% of adults having been exposed to it; One-third of infected people will develop cold sores.
🔹Cold sores can be triggered by stress, sunlight, wind, hormones or being run down with a cold or viral infection.
🔹The first signs are normally a tingling, itching or burning sensation before a group of small blisters develop, that will burst, form a crust and heal over about 10 days.
🔹Treatment is not required, however if they bother you the sooner you treat the symptoms the less severe the cold
sores will be and the quicker, they will heal.
