💛What PCOS actually is.
Polycystic O***y Syndrome is one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women of reproductive age - and also one of the most misunderstood.

Despite the name, it isn't only about ovaries, and not every woman with PCOS has cysts.

Here's the short version:
・ PCOS is a hormonal condition that can touch both your reproductive and your metabolic health
・ It might show up as irregular cycles, weight or energy shifts, mood fluctuations, or fertility questions
・ Insulin resistance is often quietly part of the picture - which is why PCOS isn't just a "period problem"
・ Every woman's experience can look a little different - so personalised, hormone-aware care often matters most

A Women's Health and Hormone Practitioner can gently look at the whole picture - your hormones, your metabolism, your life stage - and help guide care that feels right for your body.

Understanding PCOS is the first step. The rest is about finding the right support alongside you🌱

Did you know perimenopause can last 7–10 years before menopause? 😶

Dr. Kafayat Lee shares what so many women experience but never talk about - exhaustion, brain fog, low mood, feeling invisible.

And why you don't have to wait until your periods stop to get help.
You are not imagining it. And you are not alone.

Swipe → Your pain is real, even when scans can't explain it🤔

If you've been living with pain for more than three months, here's something gentle worth knowing: your body has most likely already done its healing. But your nervous system? It might still be quietly sounding the alarm.

This is what chronic pain often is - not ongoing damage, but a sensitised nervous system that hasn't switched off its pain signals. It's called nociplastic pain, and it's increasingly recognised by modern clinicians.

Here's what this might mean for you:
・ An MRI showing "wear and tear" may just be normal ageing - not the source of your pain
・ Chronic pain shows up differently for everyone - constant, intermittent, stress-triggered, or delayed
・ Traditional pain medication might fall short because it's targeting the wrong thing
・ Brain retraining and neuroplasticity-based approaches are beginning to show real promise

The most important shift? Moving from "what's broken?" to "what's keeping my nervous system on high alert?"💭

Understanding this doesn't erase the pain overnight. But it opens a door many people didn't know existed🌱
