For many years, I looked for wisdom in the traditions I had been given, hoping they would offer nourishment my soul longed for. Yet, over time, I began to realise that the answers I sought couldn't be found within the limits of a worldview that left little room for curiosity, questioning, and growth.
I have learnt that wisdom isn't dogmatic rules to follow, but real, authentic life learnings. Knowledge and expansion add to wisdom beautifully.
If I had a dollar for every time someone wished their parents/caregivers had done the work on themselves to turn up with wisdom and unconditional love, I would be a wealthy woman. We all look for wise counsel.
You see, real-life wisdom counts for gaining understanding way beyond programming and pulling apart why I think this, why I do that, and making it a valuable commodity.
Otherwise, we are still turning up with our wounds bleeding on others. Yes, our fears, our limitations, and our ignorance are still running the show.
Gosh, what a different world we would have if we could understand the paths of others, turn up with kindness and see opportunities to… you guessed it LOVE! Being kinder to who I once was is wisdom I had to go and find and take a new path. Accountability moved me forward, but wisdom took me home.✨
