It’s been almost a year on Methotrexate injections and I thought I’d share my thoughts:
💉 Found injecting into my legs is better than my stomach because although it’s still not going into my actual stomach I would still feel a bit yuk in the tummy after the injection. It’s much better than the tablets made me feel & legs are a bit better than belly but it’s still causing some upset.
💉 Still feeling just as crappy in terms of the fatigue maybe more so & don’t even start me on the brain fog 😶🌫️ although I saw recent reel where she shared some vitamins she uses to try and help so not taking her suggestions as advice but thinking I might research and try one or two & see how I go cause Ali is amazing! 🤩
💉 As shown in the picture my hair loss has been way more since starting the injections! Like I had hair loss before but never this bad & I have extremely thick hair but I’m actually starting to see some thinning on my head which tells me it’s really bad. I’m also trying to manage some scalp psoriasis or folliculitis as well so not sure if that’s impacting the hair growth also (my rheumatologist insists it can’t be psoriasis because methotrexate should stop that but shouldn’t that also be true for my inflammatory rosacea which is flaring massively)
Overall I’m happier on the injections than I was on the tablets but honestly I’d love to explore other options given my numbers are all stable & despite being in constant pain (rheumatologist says that’s apparently osteoarthritis 🙄 not my RA because no inflammation) I’m technically in medicated remission. I might talk to my rheumatologist about alternatives but I doubt he’d be up for that as he just seems to think it’s all ok as is.
Anyway that’s my little update and well it’s been a journey trying to balance my health needs with trying to build a sustainable business and also look after extra needs but we somehow manage it together as a team ❤️🐶
