How amazing is this!!! It’s huge!!

A new way to communicate at the South West Sports Centre! 💬

We were proud to have our new Communication Board installed at the South West Sports Centre this week!

The new board is another step towards making our Centre more inclusive and accessible for everyone in our community.
Communication Boards use symbols, pictures and words to support people who may communicate in different ways, including people who are non-speaking or have difficulty communicating verbally.

And we’ve already seen it making a difference! 🙌
Within the first 30 minutes of installation, the board was being used by our patrons. 💙

It’s a small addition that can make a big difference, helping more people feel comfortable, confident and included when visiting the South West Sports Centre.

We’re committed to creating a welcoming space where everyone can participate, connect and communicate.

A special shout-out to Emily from Empower Every Voice and Laura from OutLoud Developmental Services for assisting with the planning and development of the Communications Board.

Perfect for families, educators, support workers and allied health professionals wanting practical Key Word Sign skills to support communication.

💡 Families may be able to use NDIS funding to cover the cost of the workshop, depending on their individual plan and funding arrangements.

MICAH is looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Bunbury and the South West of Western Australia. We are an autism focused service supporting autistic children and their families from toddlers to teens.

Part-time or full-time employee role considered. We’re open to practitioners at different stages of their PBS pathway, including those working towards suitability, however we have a role waiting for a practitioner with proficient or higher endorsement.

You’ll have supervision (internal and external), admin support, templates, systems and a supportive team around you.
