✨ Case Study✨
This male client comes to me feeling completely lost. After multiple medical appointments and countless conversations, he still has zero answers about his symptoms.
His goals are simple:
✔ Function well
✔ Have clear skin
But his reality is far from simple. He is battling a heavy, exhausting web of symptoms:
*Severe skin issues & persistent itching (completely unresponsive to antihistamines)
*Kidney and cardiovascular concerns
*Extreme fatigue, often falling asleep mid-conversation
*Chronic sleep disturbances & memory issues
*Feeling constantly unsettled, restless, and "wired but tired"
Like many people, he has already sought medical advice and continues to work with his healthcare team. Whilst working alongside his medical team, my role is to take a broader view of the body through a functional lens. Because symptoms rarely occur in isolation. The skin, immune system, nervous system, cardiovascular system, sleep, energy production, and overall health are all interconnected.
To help us investigate further, we have commenced comprehensive functional testing, including Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, a Comprehensive Gut Microbiome Test, and Food Sensitivity Testing.
Through functional blood chemistry, we assess organ function, nutrient deficiencies, detoxification pathways, inflammation, diet and patterns of thyroid, iron, and blood sugar dysregulation. Rather than simply looking for disease, we use optimal ranges to identify areas of dysfunction before disease develops.
The gut assessment allows us to investigate digestion, nutrient absorption, the balance of beneficial and opportunistic bacteria, and rule out potential parasites or pathogens that may be contributing to symptoms.
Food sensitivity testing helps identify potential dietary triggers that may be driving immune activation and inflammation, allowing us to reduce the body's overall burden while supporting gut healing.
When we start looking at the body as a whole, patterns begin to emerge. This is why Functional Nutrition isn't about chasing symptoms. It's about asking, what is the body trying to communicate?
The samples are off to the lab. Stay tuned......
