Dragonfruit flower - an amazing flower that opens usually overnight, then dies the next morning. I was busy last night so missed it, I think it is about to close up and die, so it can put it's energy into the fruit. I do know the bees are living their best life here 🥰🐝

I love garden day! Lots going on with our little half acre plot today. We planted corn, zucchini, snow peas, cabbage, beetroot, borage, onions, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, marigolds, garlic chives, climbing spinach and... I think that's it. My Poppy's carrots are going to seed nicely. We also have lots of other things going on in the garden. You really can fit lots even on a house block 🙂

Companion planting trials - spinach with huckleberries, zuchinnis with marigolds and capsicum with - well, whatever came up. The spinach is the best we have ever had, we have our first zuchinni ever and the capsicums aren't decimated by bugs. It's not perfect, but I am calling it a win! 👍🐌🐛🐝🥒

I sectioned a part of the chook pen off to grow some grass for them to scratch around in. I wonder how long it will take them to decimate it? Day 1...

I have just finished a little tribute/origins garden at our front door. From left to right: Jade (money tree/Nanna tree) in memory of my Nanna Mac, the bulb is a gift from Jill N Brian Knight (Nan and Pop), the rose is from Nanna Gwen's place and the pot with the hibiscus is from Mum and Dad (Mar and Pop). Underneath the bark is hundreds of blue poppy seeds in memory of Poppy Ray. I will post a new pic when they come up. The big succulent at the back is in memory of Mar (Joan).

A nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

One day I will remember to take a before pic!

A gift from my late grandfather, I think that's where I get my love for gardening 😍 thanks Poppy, I have my work cut out for me today! Some of these seeds date back to 2004 so not sure how successful they will be, we will wait and see!
