The answer is pretty simple. Everyone benefits from having people around them. Having somewhere to go, people to catch up with, new things to try, and a chance to be part of the community can make a real difference.

There's a lot about what we do at Latrobe Lifeskills that makes us unique, this includes our partnership with La Trobe University. As an industry partner, Latrobe Lifeskills hosts a range of student placements throughout the year, including students from courses such as Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, Health Sciences and Outdoor and Sustainability Education.
Throughout these placements, students gain experience working with participants and emerge with greater knowledge of the disability sector.
Participants benefit from student knowledge and expertise, often working on projects and tasks to achieve goals and learn new things!

Throwback to the Road Smart Interactive session last year, where participants from Bundoora and Bendigo learned about road safety through interactive activities, including AI. The session covered strategies for drivers, passengers, bike riders and pedestrians with the aim of encouraging everyone to be safer on the road.

As part of his certificate course at Lifeskills, Jared was required to present on a topic of his choosing to demonstrate verbal communication using simple sentences.
Jared showed his skills to the class and even offered to answer questions for two minutes. Jared passed with flying colours as a result of his fantastic work.
