It’s Men’s Health Week and a gentle reminder: it takes two to tango. 💙

When it comes to fertility, s***m health matters just as much as egg health. While we can’t change everything, there are many lifestyle factors that can have a significant impact on s***m quality.

Simple changes such as maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, getting adequate sleep, reducing alcohol intake, avoiding smoking and va**ng, managing stress, and optimising nutrition can all help support s***m health.

S***m take around 3 months to develop, so the healthy choices made today can influence fertility outcomes in the months ahead.

This Men’s Health Week, let’s continue the conversation about male fertility and encourage men to take an active role in their reproductive health journey. Every step counts. 💙 ***mHealth

Some days in fertility medicine feel extra special. ✨

Two embryos transferred on the same day, two viable pregnancies, and now two families sharing the very same due date. 💕👶👶

Every fertility journey is unique, and there is never a guarantee of success. Seeing these two pregnancies progressing beautifully is a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do.

Wishing both families a healthy, smooth pregnancy and all the very best as they count down to meeting their little ones. ❤️ and a special shout out to the soon to be big brother of one of these little people who was made the very same way 3 years ago 🥰 City Fertility | Global Leader in IVF & Fertility Care

🥶 It may be freezing outside in a Melbourne winter, but inside the lab your eggs are kept perfectly warm and cared for in specialised incubators after collection

After egg collection first thing in the morning, each egg is placed in a carefully controlled environment that mimics the conditions of the human body—maintaining the ideal temperature, humidity and gas levels to support their development.

While you’re recovering with a warm drink and blanket, a dedicated team is looking after your eggs every step of the way.

It’s a wonderful reminder that even on Melbourne’s coldest mornings, some very important things are staying nice and toasty warm. ❄️🧡🥚

Embryo transfer day ✨

One of the things I love about embryology is that embryos truly come in all shapes and sizes. After thawing, some take a little longer to re-expand after being frozen, while others bounce back beautifully straight away.

This little embryo looked just as good today as it did before freezing — always wonderful to see.

Wishing my lovely patients all the very best as they head into the next part of their journey 🤍

Saturday mornings can look very different ⚽✨🔬

From standing on the sidelines at my child’s soccer game cheering them on as a mum, to heading into the lab as a fertility specialist for embryo transfers and helping other families grow.

A reminder that behind every doctor is also a person juggling the beautiful chaos of life too — and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🤍

Wishing all of today’s patients lots of hope for their little embryos with big potential.

Big changes in women’s health terminology this week, with international experts supporting the rename of PCOS to PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

Why does this matter? Because for many people, the term “polycystic o***y syndrome” has never fully captured the complexity of the condition. PMOS better reflects that this is not simply an ovarian condition, but a multisystem disorder that can impact reproductive health, metabolism, hormones, mental wellbeing, and long-term health outcomes.

For too long, the name itself has contributed to misunderstanding — especially for patients whose symptoms extend far beyond fertility. The updated terminology is an important step toward improving awareness, education, research, and patient care.

I was proud to be involved in the international survey process alongside fertility specialists and allied health professionals from around the world helping shape this change.

Language matters in medicine. Better representation leads to better understanding, better conversations, and ultimately better care for patients. 💛

Mother’s Day can hold so many different emotions.

Today, I’m thinking of all kinds of mums — the ones cuddling babies in their arms, the ones carrying babies in their hearts, the mums-to-be still waiting, the women navigating loss, donor conception, IVF, pregnancy after infertility, surrogacy, adoption, and the many complicated paths to motherhood.

For some, today is joyful.
For others, it’s heavy.
And for many, it’s both at the same time.

As a fertility specialist, I have the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the hardest and most hopeful moments of their lives. I see the strength it takes to keep going through appointments, injections, scans, setbacks, grief, and uncertainty.

If today hurts, you are not alone.
If today is beautiful, hold that tightly.
And if you are somewhere in between, that is okay too.

Sending love to everyone navigating Mother’s Day in their own way. 🤍

Today is International Donor Conception Awareness Day — a day to recognise the many different paths to building a family. 💛

As a fertility specialist, I have the privilege of supporting patients every day who are using donor s***m, donor eggs, and donor embryos to help make their dream of parenthood possible.

Donor conception is often a journey filled with courage, grief, hope, and incredible generosity. It can bring complex emotions, difficult decisions, and also immense joy.

Families created through donor conception are built on love, intention, and the kindness of those who choose to help others grow their families.

Today is also a reminder of the importance of openness, support, and ongoing conversations for donor-conceived people, intended parents, and donors alike.

To all those on this path — your journey is valid, your family is real, and your story matters. 💛

One of the very best parts of my job?
Getting cuddles with the babies I helped bring into the world 💕✨

After walking alongside patients through the highs, lows, hope, heartbreak, and everything in between, these moments are incredibly special. Seeing families grow and meeting these little humans is a reminder of why I do what I do every day.

And of course, I’m already looking forward to helping make this little cutie a big sibling in the future ❤️👶✨

There’s nothing quite like a baby cuddle to make your day.
