I’ll never be grateful to those who are overfeed for throwing crumbs in my direction and neither should you. I and everyone else deserves to have their needs met because we are all human. Give us more then the metaphorical crumbs and rotting leftovers of the full course meal you take for granted or don’t expect us to sing your praises. People view people as heroes because they sacrificed for others not because they gave you a piece rather than the whole of what you actually desperately needed. You can have one or the other comfort or hero worship but you won’t ever get both so pick my guy! You can starve on crumbs so if you actually pick hero you might want to give the people you help something more substantial metaphorically speaking. If your choice is comfort understandable not everyone has it in them to rock the boat just don’t gaslight us later because you have buyers remorse as we probably won’t like that very much.

As an asexual it’s so interesting if frustrating to realise it might be one of the few sexual orientations that is not necessarily known by the others. We are the lgbtqia plus equivalent of a third wheel in that we are part of the crew but no one knows who we are or who invited us to be part of it! It therefore is my mission today to inform people that we are here, we aren’t anything to fear and we’re definitely a flavour of qeer!

If "just do better sleep hygiene" isn't working for your brain, you're not failing it. It wasn't designed for your brain. One of the biggest things I'm learning in my Neurodiversity Coach training is this: most wellness advice assumes everyone senses, processes, and settles the same way. Sleep advice is a perfect example.

Why it's harder for ADHD brains: Time-blindness, a natural delayed body clock, and getting into hyperfocus at night makes it so hard to start the wind-down. Plus racing thoughts and needing a bit of stimulation to settle.

Why it’s harder for autistic brains: Light, sound, fabric texture, temperature, even a partner moving can keep your nervous system on alert and if interoception is different, you might not even feel tired until you're past exhausted. You might need pressure, movement or stimming to actually settle.
So we adapt it.

5 things to help you out with being on the same goal, different path well path I guess when it comes to sleep:

1. Make the environment sensory-safe, not "perfect". You know add dimmable lights, blackout curtains, your choice of white noise or total silence, cool room, fabric you actually like. Weighted blanket or gentle compression if stillness feels awful.

2. Make it visual, not a 10-step list in your head
A simple visual bedtime menu with 2-3 options. A visual timer so you can see the wind-down, do not just try to feel it.

3. Move before you try to be still. A short walk, gentle palm press together on the inhale and release on exhale, rocking, or light joint compression. Regulation through movement first, not forcing stillness.

4. Give your body an external anchor. A textured object to hold, breath paired with tracing a square or following a soft color light, a simple 1-10 scale for "buzzy to sleepy" instead of "just feel your body."

5. Permission over perfection. Let yourself stim, fidget, have a special interest as your wind-down, shift position. A routine that allows choice is a routine you'll actually use. Sleep isn't about willpower. It's about a nervous system that finally feels safe enough to let go. What’s one small thing that actually helps you settle at night? I’d love to hear.

I guess that’s it for this post! Good luck, good bye and good night guys!

If you ever wondered what my favourite video game genre is as a gamer the answer is role playing games. I am a sucker for any game that asks me to act out a role in a fantasy adventure setting! Especially if it’s one that asks me to make a customisable character that I then get to embody! I absolutely adore role playing games that do that most of all!

Ok I know in the episode this if from they were only doing this to secretly steal both money and Pokemon from their owners because they are literally Pokemon thieves by trade and that’s what they do but I can’t be the only one thinking that this should have been their actual calling right! I mean look at how good they make these little guys look! Team rocket really should have just been fashion designers man instead of letting all that talent go to waste while they swipe other people’s pets instead of doing this, you know do something their good at instead of something they actually suck at pulling off given they can’t even successfully steal an actual ten year olds pet mouse despite spending years trying to! Man what a waste of potential, such a shame!

One of my favourite quotes from the Pokemon anime is Brocks poetic statement in season one about bulbasuar as a species and their long history of not fitting into researchers boxes!

Brock: “for generations people couldn’t decide whether to classify bulbasuar as a plant or an animal. I think the best classification for them is as a symbol. After all bulbasuar are a perfect sign that all life an earth is connected. If tomorrow either plants or animals vanished from the world, the other would not be able to go on without them!”

Be like the bulbasuar my friends, resist easy classification and symbolise something grand!

Yeah I could see it! I mean just picture this: You boot up the new game you bought, a cut scene starts playing! You hear in a gruff man’s voice: It’s may eighth, then years since the mutant octopi invaded from the shoreline and took over our world. Humanity now lives to serve them except for those of us living in the underground. Things are dire but I have not lost hope. One day humans will rise again and take back the land from these oceanic monsters! While he’s talking news paper headlines flash across the screen showing the origins of the mutant octopus creatures including this one! Honestly sounds like an interesting experience, now I kind of want someone to make this a real thing! please some one out there make this a real game!
