The qualifications I didn't think to print on a t-shirt...
Lately, I’ve had a few Support Coordinators and NDIS “professionals” subtly question whether I am qualified enough to deliver NDIS Therapeutic Supports. Without the least bit of shame, I’ll say: I’m frankly overqualified.🤣
I get it though. The NDIS landscape is confusing, and because I’m currently blessed and booked out for 2026, I don’t spend my days shouting my resume from the rooftops.
But let’s clear up the confusion for the gatekeepers out there. Here is exactly why my framework is a heavy-hitting powerhouse for capacity building:
1. My CPCA Membership (The Clinical Ticket)
Yes, counselling is self-regulated in Australia. No, that doesn't mean "unregulated." As a member of Certified Practising Counsellors Australia (CPCA), my qualifications meet strict national verification standards. This qualifies me to deliver services under Registration Group 0128 (Therapeutic Supports). I don't just "chat.” I deliver evidence-based clinical interventions for emotional regulation, anxiety, and capacity building.
2. My NESA Accreditation (The Ultimate Context)
On top of my clinical credentials, I hold professional teacher accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). This means I hold verified expertise in child development, behaviour management, and educational systems.
What happens when you combine the two?
When an NDIS participant works with me, they aren’t getting generic therapy in a vacuum. They are getting clinical strategy mapped directly onto their real-world environment. I know how school-related anxiety, social exclusion, and IEPs actually work because I speak the language of both the clinic and the classroom.
So, to the Plan Managers and Support Coordinators looking for a rock-solid, fully compliant, "Reasonable and Necessary" justification letter for your clients: my paperwork is already locked, loaded, and perfectly aligned with NDIS standards.
I might not wear my qualifications as a cape, but they are absolutely doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
I’ll save the chats about my psychological therapies PG Dip completed + my autism/neurodivergent masters (in progress) for another day.
(Note: My books are currently at capacity, but I am always happy to connect with coordinators who appreciate high-quality, dual-framework support for future openings!)
