Pain down the front of your thigh?
It might not be sciatica.
Most people think leg pain comes from the sciatic nerve.
But if your pain, numbness, or weakness travels through the front of the thigh, the femoral nerve may be the real culprit.
The femoral nerve originates from the L2-L4 region of the lower back.
It travels through the psoas, down the front of the leg, through the quadriceps, and into the knee.
People with femoral nerve irritation often experience weakness in the quads.
They may feel unstable through the knee.
They also tend to shift their weight onto the opposite side without realising it.
The solution isn't just stretching or resting.
The goal is to create more space around the affected spinal segments.
Then build stability through targeted core activation and movement retraining.
Every case is different.
That's why the right assessment is critical before choosing the right corrective strategy.
