Sacro Occipital Technic- SOTO Australasia SOTO Australasia is a non profit organisation made to help increase the understanding on Sacro Occip The occiput also helps to pump CSF.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is a comprehensive, gentle and innovative technique of Chiropractic. It is so named because of the relationship between the Sacrum (base of the spine) and the Occiput (base of the skull). SOT was founded in 1925 by Dr DeJarnette and since then has continued to be studied and researched around the world. Cerebro-Spinal Fluid
One of the functions of the sacrum is to p

ump Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) from the base of the spine back up the spinal canal to the brain and throughout the nervous system. this minute rhythmical motion which circulates the CSF is essential to optimal health. CSF acts as the circulatory system of the brain and spinal cord. The Spine and the Pelvis
The pelvis forms the foundational support of the human skeleton. It supports the upper body right up to the skull, and enables us to transfer our weight to our legs. The spine holds our body upright, supports all of your organs and provides anchor points for our muscles. It also protects our delicate nervous system. The nervous system controls our body, and can only function normally when our structures are balanced and our pelvis is stable.

Our board members Dr Natise & Dr Kirstie shared a brilliant weekend at the Australian Chiropractors Association Annual Conference — reconnecting with old friends, making plenty of new ones, and of course, spreading the SOT love along the way.

Great conversations, great people, great energy… and always plenty of laughs.

And now? We’re officially in GO MODE 🚀

The SOTO Annual Convention is coming up fast — Kingscliff, 31 October–1 November — and we’re ready to bring that same energy to our SOT community.

Hey Perth… we missed you. 👋

And we’re coming back with something special.

This November, we’re thrilled to welcome Dr Jesper Dahl to Perth for a standalone seminar that will challenge and expand the way you think about Category II management.

The Core – So Much More Than Stability goes beyond the traditional conversation around strength and stability, exploring the many influences on function, compensation and recovery. Through practical assessments, clinical reasoning and hands-on application, Jesper will share concepts and tools you can take straight back into practice.

Whether you’re experienced in SOT or simply curious to learn more, this seminar is designed to inspire, challenge and strengthen your clinical confidence.
If you’ve heard Jesper before, you’ll know why this is one not to miss. If you haven’t, here’s your opportunity.

Building strong foundations in SOT 🙌

Yesterday’s Mentorship & Mastery in Melbourne brought together chiropractors and students for a day of learning, discussion and hands-on practical skills.

A huge thank you to Dr Liz Conlon for leading the session, Dr Bridget Houlden for assisting, and Drs Greer Watson, Andre Maistry and Dave Mock for sharing their expertise during the practical sessions.

Thank you also to Serita from the Australian Chiropractors Association for coordinating such a fantastic event.

It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, engagement and enthusiasm from everyone who attended. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our 2027 Foundation Series in Melbourne.
