Has your child had antibiotics twice this year? It is worth knowing that while antibiotics are necessary, they also wipe out beneficial bacteria. This can leave children experiencing frequent illness and digestive discomfort.

BB Kids Repair is a multi-layered gut repair formula designed specifically for the post-antibiotic recovery window.

It contains:
Clinical Probiotic Strains & Prebiotic Fibers: To restore microbial diversity.
Glutamine: To support the repair of the intestinal lining.
Zinc & Vitamin D: To support immune recovery.
Support your child's recovery with a formula built for what is actually happening after antibiotics.

UTIs every few weeks. Five rounds of antibiotics. Constant fatigue.

Sometimes the answer isn't another antibiotic, it's understanding why the infections keep coming back.

By looking deeper into this client's vaginal microbiome, hormones, immune function and nutrient status, we uncovered the factors allowing opportunistic bacteria to thrive and travel into the urinary tract.

✨ No UTIs for 12 months
✨ Only one mild virus this year with a 3-day recovery
✨ Energy stable all day without needing naps

The goal isn't just symptom suppression. It's restoring the environment that allows the body to protect itself.

When you investigate the root cause, the body often does the rest.

The herb I prescribe most often for kids who tantrum?

🌼 Chamomile.

Not because it's a "calming herb" but because of what tantrums can sometimes be telling us.

A child who melts down easily isn't always "behaving badly."

Sometimes they're:
• Overtired
• Running on stress hormones
• Struggling with gut discomfort
• Experiencing blood sugar crashes
• Feeling overwhelmed by sensory input
• Not producing enough calming neurotransmitters
• Stuck in a constant fight-or-flight state

When the nervous system is under pressure, the smallest thing can feel huge.

Chamomile supports the nervous system, digestion and inflammation pathways simultaneously, which is why it can be such a valuable herb for children.

The tantrum isn't always the problem.

Sometimes it's the clue.

Always ask:
"What is this behaviour trying to tell me about what is happening inside the body?"

Stop wasting money on multivitamins that your child can't even absorb. As a naturopath, I see that 70% of the children coming into the clinic have a compromised gut lining. When the gut lining is damaged, it creates an absorption issue, meaning those expensive supplements aren't actually doing anything for your little one.

Many popular pharmacy-brand gummies are full of additives and fillers that are not only non-therapeutic but are also linked to impacting the gut lining further. This makes nutrient absorption even worse.

The foundation for any supplement routine must be a healthy gut. We use BB Kids Repair to heal and treat the gut lining first. By repairing the gut, we ensure your kids can actually absorb the nutrients they need to thrive.

Feeling stressed isn't just a mindset.

It's something we can often see reflected in physiology.

This cortisol test belonged to a mum experiencing symptoms of overwhelm, anxiety, fatigue and poor recovery. While her results remained within the laboratory reference range, cortisol was sitting toward the higher end of the range throughout the day, suggesting her body was working hard to maintain a prolonged stress response.

Why does this matter?

Because cortisol doesn't work in isolation.

Higher stress hormone output increases demand for nutrients such as magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin C and zinc — nutrients that are already commonly depleted during pregnancy, breastfeeding and periods of chronic stress.

Over time, this can contribute to symptoms including fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety, brain fog, irritability and feeling "wired but tired".

Testing allows us to move beyond guessing and understand what your body is actually doing.

Because the goal isn't to eliminate stress.

It's to build a body that's more resilient to it.

If you've been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or unlike yourself, we can help uncover why.

My favourite herb for burnt out mums?

Withania (Ashwagandha)
Not because it gives you energy like caffeine.
Because it helps your body become more resilient to stress.

When you're running on adrenaline, feeling overwhelmed, waking through the night, constantly "on" and struggling to recover, your nervous system can become stuck in a state of hypervigilance.

Withania is classified as an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body adapt to physical and emotional stress. Research suggests it may support healthy cortisol regulation, improve stress resilience, reduce feelings of overwhelm and support sleep quality.

I often think of it as helping to increase your stress bucket capacity.

Life doesn't necessarily become less stressful.

But your ability to handle the stress improves.

This is particularly relevant for mothers juggling broken sleep, breastfeeding, work, household responsibilities and the mental load that comes with caring for everyone else.

Common signs I start thinking about stress support include:

✨ Feeling wired but tired
✨ Waking between 2–4am
✨ Anxiety and overwhelm
✨ Poor stress tolerance
✨ Constant fatigue despite resting
✨ Feeling like you're surviving rather than thriving

Because burnout isn't always a motivation problem.

Sometimes it's a nervous system that has been running flat out for too long.

The nutrient mums are most deficient in might surprise you.

It's not magnesium.
It's not iron.
It's not B12.

It's having a break from carrying everyone else's needs.

But before we get there, let's talk about the nutrients many mums genuinely aren't getting enough of.

Pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding place significant demands on nutrient stores. Choline, magnesium, zinc, vitamin B12 and folate all play important roles in energy production, mood regulation, cognitive function, stress resilience and nervous system health.

When these nutrients become depleted, symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, irritability, poor sleep and feeling overwhelmed can become much harder to navigate.

Food isn't the entire answer, but it is one of the most powerful places to start.

And while you're nourishing your body, don't forget to protect your mind too.

A regular mental load-free day isn't a luxury.

It's a health intervention.

Save this post for your next grocery shop and send it to a mum who needs the reminder. 🤍

You grew a baby.

You gave birth.

You may be breastfeeding.

And yet, somewhere along the way, you've been told that feeling exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, forgetful, irritable or unlike yourself is simply part of motherhood.

While these experiences are common, they aren't always normal.

Pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding place significant demands on nutrient stores and stress physiology. Iron, vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and thyroid function can all influence energy, mood, cognition and recovery. At the same time, chronic sleep disruption and the mental load of motherhood can impact cortisol patterns, affecting how you cope with stress, sleep and daily demands.

The challenge is that many of these symptoms overlap. Fatigue, anxiety, low mood, brain fog and poor resilience can all have multiple contributing factors, which is why guessing often leaves women feeling frustrated and unheard.

That's why we've created our Postpartum Recovery Package.

This package includes a comprehensive initial consultation, salivary cortisol testing, professional interpretation of your results, and a personalised GP referral letter outlining key pathology markers that may help uncover what's driving your symptoms.

Because you deserve more than being told to "just wait it out."

One of my favourite nutrients for exhausted postpartum mums?

✨ Magnesium.

Not because it's trendy.
Because so many mothers genuinely need more of it.

Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, sleep deprivation and chronic stress all increase magnesium demand. At the same time, elevated cortisol (your body's main stress hormone) uses magnesium at a faster rate, creating a cycle where stress depletes magnesium and low magnesium makes it harder to cope with stress.

Magnesium plays a critical role in over 300 biochemical reactions throughout the body and is involved in:

• Energy production
• Nervous system regulation
• Stress resilience
• Sleep quality
• Muscle recovery
• Blood sugar balance
• Neurotransmitter production

When levels become depleted, symptoms may include fatigue, anxiety, irritability, headaches, muscle tension, poor sleep and feeling "wired but tired."

This doesn't mean magnesium is the answer for every postpartum mum.

But it does mean that if you're feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, struggling to switch off or not recovering the way you'd expect, it's worth looking deeper.

Sometimes fatigue isn't a lack of motivation.

It's a body asking for support.
