This morning it was a pleasure to welcome first time visitors Rory to Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy with her mum Louise and baby Ocean.

Rory was introduced to big Ringer first up, we pampered the big boy, then we did some lead work. Ringer met baby Ocean and she loved it and our big boy was fantastic.

After that we greeted our therapy donkeys and Rory was taken with Rif Raf.

This was a meet and greet and Rory was so happy to meet our therapy horses and donkeys, I have no doubt this wonderful family will be regular visitors to Stable Mind.😁❀️

It was a pleasure to welcome back Krissy and her support worker to Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy . Krissy is one of our regular visitors and on her last visit presented me with a hand painting of the horses she visits.

It's been a while since Krissy's last visit as she travelled to visit her family for a couple of weeks. So this morning we worked with therapy horse big Ringer.

We gave the big boy a lot of pampering, then we did our ground work and lead training.
Krissy was fantastic and it wasn't long before she was the leader. Ringer was a bit stubborn at first but Krissy sorted that out 😁.

On arriving my assistant dog Piper had to greet her first.❀️

Well done this morning Krissy.πŸ‘

Yesterday Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy welcomed back Melissa and her support worker Ash .

We worked with Melissa's favourite therapy horse, big Ringer. Because it's been a while since Melissa last visited we did some revision on the ground work and lead training.

We started with some pampering, then we did flection left, right and back ups. After that we walked the big fella around the paddock, working on his on/off sides.

Since Melissa has started visiting Stable Mind I have been amazed how her confidence and communication skills has grown. By the end of the session she was leading Ringer with only her thumb and index finger on the lead rope, very proud of you Melissa, and of course big Ringer was absolutely fantastic.😁❀️

Last Sunday Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy was invited to the Burrum Tavern for an epic fund raising event to support mental health and su***de awareness.
Burrum Tavern raffled 46 prizes, including meat trays, vouchers and various goods supplied by local businesses.
The revenue raised was donated to Beyond Blue.

Stable Mind had our three therapy donkeys Diego, Quavo and Rif Raf supporting this event

A special mention to Kim Lindsay for organising the prizes and Tania and Wade from the Burrum Tavern hosting the event and your ongoing support of local businesses and charities.

This morning Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy was visited by Krissy and her support worker Taren. I look forward to Krissy visits because she is always so happy 😁 when she is with our therapy horses.

Of course Krissy had to say hello to my assistant dog Piper first , then we worked with my beautiful big clydesdale Ringer.

Krissy gave the big fella a bit of TLC . After that we did some flection left and right. Then I asked Krissy to lead Ringer through a obstacle course for the first time. Krissy did a brilliant job with Ringer.

Krissy loves her visits to Stable Mind and watching how relaxed and confident she has become during her visits is amazing 😍.

This morning Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy welcomed Melissa and her support worker Ash. We had to say hello to my service dog Piper first.

Melissa worked with our therapy clydesdale Ringer, and she did a brilliant job with the big fella.

Firstly we gave Ringer a bit of pampering, then we flexed him left and right and backed him up. After that we turned Ringer off his rear left and right and then Melissa led him through a small obstacle course.

Ringer was a perfect gentleman and Melissa was always in control. Very good work Melissa, I am so proud of how your confidence has grown as well as your leadership and horsemanship.

One of Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy supporters Burrum River Clydesdales had 3 of their beautiful clydesdales at the Fraser Coast Agg show this morning. I was only too happy to support Simon, Kathryn and Abbie by leading one of the horses in the arena to be judged.

It's an absolute credit to the team at Burrum River Clydesdales for the way these fantastic horses were presented.

So Macca won
- show champion heavy horse
- 1st place heavy horse gelding.
- 3rd place best presented.

Then Loui won
- 1st place best presented
- 2nd place heavy horse gelding.

And Lady won
- 1st place heavy horse mare
- Reserve champion

Well done Burrum River Clydesdales and it's a privilege to have your support of Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy.

This morning Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy welcomed Melissa and her support worker Ash.

This was Melissa's 4th visit to Stable Mind, and it has been a pleasure to have Melissa visit and importantly watch her confidence grow as a leader of our therapy horses.

Today we worked with big King. Firstly we gave him a brush, then flexed him left and right, got him backing up,then leading him through left and right turns. King needs a strong leader and Melissa was fantastic. Well done Melissa.πŸ‘

After that we put King back to the paddock and our big clydesdale Mac had to say hello.

Yesterday Stable Mind Equine Assisted Therapy along with one of our major supporters Burrum River Clydesdales visited the Burrum Tavern. Stable Mind had our therapy donkeys Diego, Quavo and Rif Raf, while Burrum River Clydesdales had 3 of their beautiful clydesdales Macca, Loui and Lady on show, and my assistant dog Piper just relaxed during the day.

This special mother's day event was to allow the families to meet our therapy animals and to understand the importance of mental health support through equine assisted therapy.

Wade and Tania from the Burrum Tavern had 13 meat trays and 10 pub vouchers worth $20 each to raffle with the proceeds going to support our not for profit charity. And what a response we had from the guests and families at the tavern raising $1336. A huge thank you to Wade and Tania and the wonderful guests for your support.

The directors of Stable Mind would sincerely like to give a big shout out to the volunteers who supported us yesterday, without you we wouldn't have had such a successful afternoon.

- Simon and Kathryn of Burrum River Clydesdales.
- My go to volunteer Amelia and her mother Karen.
- My wife Melissa and Sally for selling the raffle tickets.
- To Wade and Tania and the fantastic staff at the Burrum Tavern.
