I love filming in the beautiful Northern Rivers. Do you know this is where we have recorded fresh water streams, summer rain, soft ocean waves, amazing birds, and my favourite - river crickets 🫶 (all in Luvia App).
This study by The Frontiers in Psychology sampled the levels of stress hormone cortisol in the saliva of the 36 participants. They spent 10 minutes (or more) in nature 3 times a week, for 8 weeks.
Cortisol levels dropped 3 x faster than normal rates. What is interesting is that efficiency peaked between 20-30 minutes - which is exactly how long I feel it takes to feel that opening to nature where you suddenly ‘drop in’ and everything comes alive - the sounds, the sights, the animals. That feeling of being connected to all. Have you felt it?
The study also showed that it’s not just physically being in nature, but also listening to nature sounds like in our app :)
