Yoga found me when I most needed it. I used to feel a resistance to getting on my mat (and let’s face it sometimes I still do) but it has become so much more to me than poses. The depth that yoga can bring to me now amazes me, soothes me and challenges me . For so long I lived cut off from my body, mentalizing my life and wanting so much to heal. It was when my life was turned upside down that I learned how to really listen to my body. It’s been like a home coming. Moving through sensation with compassion and connection, making choices and creating rhythm has taught me the true nature of yoga. I am grateful for the gifts life has brought me even through all of the darkness.

Letting go so that the snowflakes fall melt and merge with the flowing river-no longer frozen in time. I sit next to the flowing water with a cup of warm compassion and love for myself . As we traverse through uncertainty, fear or trauma, I’ve always found comfort in the power of metaphor-guiding me gently towards healing. This visual came to me during a meditation in my recent time with .yoga.counselling , inspired by the wisdom of Thomas Hubl who first shared this beautiful metaphor. Grateful for the teachings that continue to unfold❤️
