🗣BECAREFUL OF YOUR SPOKEN WORD!!!💎
That was the biggest lesson of my Bali journey.
Two days before the Retreat ended, I went down hard — sick through the night, purging from both ends 😵💫. Then came the boat ride from hell, white-knuckling every wave for 30 minutes while Tracey held me together. A 90-minute Grab taxi to Ubud where I hallucinated the whole way. Straight into bed, still purging.
Alfio flew in that night, for what was meant to be a 6-day romantic holiday together— instead he spent it nursing me. We had to call in IV doctors 2 days running just to keep me going. Our trip to Nusa Lembongan was cancelled. Days were spent resting & running to the bathroom, eating nothing but rice, mashed potato and boiled chicken — which is all I ate for the next 3 weeks.
The flight home was 4.5 hours of just breathing and talking myself through it. My Cairns doctor wanted to hospitalise me on sight — I begged for 24-48 hours, and thankfully it slowed a little.
Two weeks on the lounge gave me time to reflect on the Retreat, my Intention for it, and the lesson underneath it all.
Because I know the exact moment I let my energy field down: walking past the open kitchen with another lady from the Retreat, I said "this is why people get sick over here — the shelving is quite dirty." By that night, I was purging from both ends.
It was severe Bali Belly with Parasites 😫😲 I don't do things by halves 🤣

What came out the other side of it is a newfound Stillness, Peace, Softness, Kindness, Gentleness, Clarity, Focus, Belief and Trust — gifts I never expected to receive wrapped in three weeks of suffering, but I wouldn't trade them for anything now.
I share this not to be dramatic or for sympathy, but because I promised myself I'd tell the truth about this journey — the beautiful and the brutal parts of it.
