My name is Moe Webley.I have a lovely shop here in Cairns,North Queensland, Gateway to the Barrier Reef.I have been Tattooing now for 39 years and most of the time Tattooed in Brisbane,being one of the first Artists to Tattoo there before the Tattoo boom time years started.I am a 34 year member of NATIONAL and a life member of P.T.A.A. My favourite style is modernised old school with strong lin

es and colour,but as this is a street shop I do just about anything.I have a ver5y strong Ethical Standard and often refuse to tattoo what I consider rubbish.Currently I am working alone six days a week and I have a large shop so I would like to extend an invitation to AUST.

Born To Tattoo
My Name is Moe Webley.
At a very young age I saw an old blue sailor tattoo on a neighbour's arm. From then on I was hooked. At the age of Sixteen I got my first tattoo in Brisbane at one of only two shops in Brisbane at the time. I was still at school at the time and this caused Quite a ruckus with my family. Remember Tattooing was very much back alley and not popular like today. I had found my calling in life. Nothing was gonna stop me.
So also at the age of sixteen I got my first tattoo kit and set about destroying my friends skin. So rare was tattooing back then that there was no shortage of victims. Long story short after a bad motorcycle accident I eventually set up shop in Brisbane when there was only two other tattoo shops in all Brisbane, maybe all of Queensland.
I had several shops in Brissy over the years spanning a career of about 25 years the last being the legendary STONES CORNER EXPERT TATTOO. The council resumed the shop off me and tore it down so I decided to move to Cairns and Brissy was starting to fill up with Tattoo shops by then anyway.
So here I am still laying down the ink. I love Tattoo Art, there is no other art form like it. My favourite is to tattoo the modern versions of the old traditional designs, strong lines and bold colours. They seem to stand up the best over time. There are so many different styles these days that I've learned to tattoo in most styles and find that most of my work is now custom designed.
