🌟 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆! 🌟

What an incredible day we had on Thursday! 🎉 A huge thank you to the Cairns Children's Museum Children’s Museum for lending us the big blue blocks that brought so much joy to our community. It was heartwarming to see children of all ages playing together, creating memories and connections through play! 🧩💙

We also brought along our mobile loose parts kit and buddy building kit, which added even more fun to the day. A special shoutout to Cairns Regional Council for their generous support through the Sustainability Grant, making this free event possible and promoting nature-based playgroups in our community. 🌿🤝

We’re so encouraged by the fantastic turnout and can’t wait to host more free community events in the future! Thank you to all the families who joined us in celebrating the joy of play. Let’s keep reconnecting with nature and each other! 🌍💚

Why we love to get our Makedo kits out!

Complexity is a barrier to creativity.

When we hand a child a pre-designed, battery-operated object, we limit their potential to only what that object was made to do. But when we place them in a space where they have to create their own experience—using nothing but what they find—the brain enters a different state.

It’s not just play. It’s an exercise in invention.

A box is never just a box. It’s a vessel for a story that the child, not the manufacturer, gets to write. That kind of agency is the bedrock of deep learning.

Beginner Climbing Opportunity

Hey guys! 🧗‍♀️

Our Speech Therapist, Felicity, is undergoing her climbing guide assessment today and we’d love a few people to come along for a practice session- it’s also a great way for beginners to get started!

Date: Friday 5 June (today)
Time: 1:00–2:30pm
Location: The Northern Outlook climbing gym

If you’re keen to support but not climb you can learn the ropes under our instructors guidance and keep climbers safe. No charge if you’re not climbing!

Cost: $15 for the session (this is just for the venue hire)
