Sharing for a greater voice in healthcare choices for people diagnosed with MND.

💙WHERE ARE ALL OUR QLD MPs? 💙

Over the past week, I’ve received more “wishing you and your family all the best,” “well done for advocating,” or simply radio silence from Queensland MPs than I’d like to admit. 😂
And honestly… I get it.
Maybe Aaron and I aren’t in your electorate.
Maybe you think, “That’s not my constituent, so there’s not much I can do.”
But this isn’t about where Aaron lives.
This is about the entire MND community. 💙
There are people living with MND in every corner of Queensland — families behind closed doors, overwhelmed, exhausted, and just trying to get through another day.
They often don’t have the time, energy, or strength to fight.
So we’re fighting for them. 💙

Queensland has 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly and 30 Members of the Australian House of Representatives — and we want every single one of them standing with the MND community.

So here’s our challenge:

💙 Ask them to support Queensland’s MND community.
📲 Ask them to share our petition.
🗣️ Ask them to help us reach the signatures needed to bring this into Parliament.

We need change to the standard of care for people living with MND and their families.

We’re asking them to stand up for every Queenslander living with MND.

Cairns Disability Expo is at Raintrees Shopping Centre TODAY!

Tuesday 18th August - 9am to 5pm - over 130 stalls

I worked in the tourism industry in The Kimberley for some years, and was quite involved in state and regional industry awards programs. I never quite understood the approach of self-nomination and generally felt it was like 'buying votes'. For those who know me well, you'll know how highly I value integrity and authenticity... I am extremely honest and transparent and always worried about being seen to be anything else.

So, I don't much go in for awards programs as a general rule..... but this week I found out that a kind person has nominated Future Plan Management for the Customer Service Excellence Award - Professional Services, for the 2026 Business Excellence Awards, proudly sponsored by James Cook University.

I feel a little bit chuffed, even though I am also a bit conflicted with the next step in the process (self assessment and responses to questions about the how and why of my business). Regardless of whether I decide to proceed to submit the next step of the process, I want to thank whomever nominated us and acknowledge a great team of passionate women that join me in delivering our high quality and professional plan management support. Thank you to Aimee, Nicole and Donna for showing up every day and being kind, thorough and responsive. We love our important role in helping people with disability navigate the financial complexities of the NDIS and we continue to embrace the future, whatever it may hold for plan management.
