๐งด Dry Winter Skin? Your Routine May Need an Upgrade
Is your skin feeling dry, tight, flaky, itchy or rough this winter? โ๏ธ
Cooler weather, lower humidity, indoor heating and hot showers can all contribute to dry skin โ and itโs not just your hands that can be affected. Your face, arms, legs, lips and body may all need a little extra care.
๐ง Choose the right moisturiser
Lotions are generally lighter and easy to apply over larger areas, while creams are thicker and can provide more moisturising support for dry skin.
๐ก๏ธ Very dry skin? Consider an ointment
Ointments are thicker and greasier than creams and help form a protective barrier to reduce moisture loss. They can be particularly useful on very dry or cracked areas.
๐ฟ Moisturise after bathing
Apply your moisturiser soon after a shower or bath while your skin is still slightly damp to help lock in moisture.
๐ฅ Turn down the temperature
A long, hot shower might feel amazing on a cold morning, but hot water can make dry skin worse. Choose warm rather than very hot water.
๐ซง Be gentle
If your skin is dry or sensitive, consider gentle, fragrance-free or soap-free cleansing options.
