When Shelby began her breathwork journey, she set one intention:
To become a safe harbour for her girls.
Not the perfect mum.
Not the calm-all-the-time mum.
A safe place.
She wanted to feel safe in herself —
so her daughters could feel safe being fully themselves.
Because she noticed something honest.
There were moments she wanted to check out.
To escape.
To withdraw when the tantrums came.
And through breathwork, she uncovered why.
Her nervous system wasn’t just reacting to her daughter’s meltdown.
It was responding to an old imprint —
a memory of a similar moment from her own childhood.
That was the “bingo” moment.
The realisation that the rage, the checking out, the overwhelm…
wasn’t random.
It was patterned.
And once it’s seen, it can be met differently.
This is the power of conscious breath.
It gives you access to what’s underneath the reaction.
So you can choose to show up as the safe harbour —
not from force,
but from coherence.
