For the past 8 years, the NDIA has frozen NDIS pricing arrangements for allied health professionals, with some professions’ rates slashed last year, and travel costs cut across allied health.
I’ve had friends lose their jobs because businesses cannot keep absorbing rising wages, rent, fuel, admin, supervision, compliance, insurance and CPI, which has increased by 29.5% over the same period.
Meanwhile, federal politicians' base salary has increased by 15.5% over that timeframe, rising from $207,100 in 2018 to $239,267 today.
Enough is enough.
Today is a Day of Action for the No OTs, No NDIS campaign.
Last week’s announcement of an eighth consecutive year of price freezing for OTs under the NDIS is another blow to workforce already under strain.
OTs are at breaking point, participants are losing access to essential services and families are feeling the pressure. Enough is enough.
Today, supporters across the country are standing together to show the scale of support for our campaign to protect participant access to essential occupational therapy supports.
