FAQ 2: Can children be treated at the Canberra Emergency Care Centre?

A. Yes, we can treat patients of all ages – from babies to adults. Emergency paediatric presentations can include fevers, infections, respiratory illness (including asthma), minor injuries and lacerations, gastroenteritis, and dehydration.

Canberra Emergency Care Centre has a dedicated paediatrics room with two acute paediatric bays.

Our department is staffed by highly experienced Nurses and Fellows of the Australian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMs) — ensuring expert care.

Walk-ins welcome, open 8am-8pm 365 days a year, located in Turner, Canberra.

Canberra Emergency Care Centre is a new private emergency department led by local emergency specialists. 🩺

Our modern purpose-built facility is equipped to assess and treat patients of all ages for an expansive range of emergency conditions, including injuries, infections, and breathing difficulties.

There is a facility fee charged for attending the Canberra Emergency Care Centre, this facility fee is $370 and is not covered by Medicare.

Walk-ins are welcome, open 8am-8pm 365 days a year, located in Turner, Canberra.

Introducing the Canberra Emergency Care Centre team 🏥🩺

Clarke leads Canberra Emergency Care Centre's Nursing team as an experienced Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Unit Manager, with extensive experience across the Canberra health system.

Clarke's clinical background includes advanced practice within the ACT Walk-in Centres, where he provided autonomous assessment and management of patients with minor illness and injury, as well as leadership as a Clinical Nurse Educator, supporting workforce development, clinical education and quality improvement.
