If you're waiting for the “right time” to start your journey towards better health… consider this 🤔✨

It doesn’t have to be a complete overhaul of the way you eat or live.

It doesn’t have to happen when you have more time to do everything “perfectly”.

And you don’t have to wait until after that special event where you know there’ll be extra indulgences 🍰😅

Start SLOW 🌱

So that you can start NOW.

Because every little change can make a difference ✨

No matter how small.
No matter how imperfect.

Here are a few simple ideas to start:

🥕 Add one extra colourful vegetable to each meal

🥚 Boil up some eggs to add to your breakfast (protein!)

☕ Or simply… take 10 minutes to enjoy a cup of tea

The act itself is a moment to slow down, rest your body, and calm your mind 😌

Better yet, choose a tea that supports what you need in that moment — something calming for mood or sleep, or something soothing for digestion like peppermint or ginger 🌿

It doesn’t have to be complicated

A gentle start is still a start 💫

OR

“My pathology 🩸results came back ‘normal’… but what do they even mean?”

OR

“I cannot kick this mid-afternoon slump”

OR

“I keep waking up in the middle of the night and I am SO tired of being tired” 😴

“What’s going on with my gut?” 🤔💭

This is a question I’ve asked myself MANY times over the years 😩

Bloating. Food sensitivities. Irregular bowel motions. Constipation. Diarrhoea. The whole rollercoaster 🎢

A huge part of why I became a Nutritionist was because I was trying to figure out 🔎 what was going on in my own body

And if your journey feels like:
“I think I’m improving!” 🙂
followed by:
“Wait… why am I back here again?” 😩

I get it 🙋‍♀️

Because... even as a Nutritionist… MY digestion is far from perfect!

There are so many moving pieces 🧩
Stress. Hormones. Genetics. Environmental factors. Sleep. Life just being ridiculously busy 🤷🏼‍♀️

And sometimes you KNOW what to do… but the thought of meal prep, cooking, research, and trying to get it all “right” just feels exhausting 😮‍💨

Having been there myself — and forever learning through my own ups and downs — it’s my mission to help make this journey easier for YOU

Together, we can work through understanding what’s going on, building knowledge around your body, and making simple, practical, and sustainable changes that feel realistic for your life 🌱✨

It’s not about perfection 🙂‍↔️

I meet YOU where YOU are at 🫶

It’s about support, progress, and finding what works for YOU!

If this sounds a little too familiar… reach out, and let’s work through it together 🫶

When I’m in consult with a client talking about juicing… 🍏🫜🫚

It only feels right to follow it up with a freshly squeezed juice stop in town ✔️

There can be so much confusion around juicing…
Is it GOOD or BAD? 🧐

Some say it’s “bad” because removing the fibre may lead to a bigger blood glucose spike ⬆️

Others say it’s beneficial because it can be an easy way to increase nutrient intake and access powerful 💥 phytonutrients like polyphenols.

Personally, I think it’s similar to many concepts in nutrition…

It’s often not about whether something is “good” or “bad”.
It’s about whether it’s right for YOU, right NOW.

🌱 Your current health status, symptoms, goals, digestion, blood sugar regulation, stress levels and overall health journey all matter.

What may be supportive for one person may not be the best next step for another.

Not sure where juicing fits for you? Feel free to reach out 🤗

Did you know? Digestion doesn’t start in your gut...
It starts in your brain 🧠

Slowing down, engaging your senses, and preparing your food with care, triggers cephalic phase digestion; stimulating digestive enzymes and preparing your body to optimally break down and absorb nutrients 🌱

And there’s more magic… ✨

Cooking can also be a moment of creativity and self-care 🙌
Play with colour, texture, and flavour.
Plate your food with intention.
Add finishing touches.
Take your time.

Reset your body to "rest and digest" and calm your nervous system 😌

So, a gentle challenge this week:
• Choose one meal
• Plan it carefully
• Cook it slowly, with intention
• Make it beautiful
• Be fully present, whilst cooking AND whilst eating

You’re not just filling your stomach —
you’re supporting optimal digestion and nourishing your nervous system 🤍

🥒 🍅 🥬

If your kids are anything like mine, there's only a select few foods in this image that they will eat.

And what I see often is that this then flows through to the adults in the family. It's easier to prepare one meal that everyone will eat. And that meal is often dictated by what the little ones in the family want. Which means adults end up limiting their vegetable intake too.

Now, I am not going to suggest cooking seperate meals every night. I am all for making things easier, not harder! 😅

And I am not going to suggest force feeding your kids something that they don't want. This often has the opposite effect and causes stress for everyone involved 🙂‍↔️

But one thing you can do is to alternate meals. One night cook up a kid-friendly 👧bulk meal like the all time kids fave "Spag Bol" - I can easily get 2-3 nights out of a batch (and it's actually a great meal to blitz some sneaky veg into!)

And the next night whilst the kids have left overs, you can then make up a bulk meal for the adults in the family. Pack it full of nutritious vegetables 🌱, especially lots of leafy greens.

I love this quick and easy slow cooker Turmeric Chicken recipe:
https://hurriedhealthnut.com/instant-pot-turmeric-chicken/
Simply load it up with mixed vegetables like Bok Choy, celery, pumpkin, beans, or anything the kids might turn these noses up at! 😆

Then the adults have a meal for a couple of nights, and you can switch back to making a kid-friendly option the next night.

One of the healthiest things we can do for our gut and overall health is to consume a wide variety of plant based foods, like vegetables 🥦

And modelling this to kids is a no-pressure way to introduce them to the idea of more veg variety.

Win win 🙌

C I N N A M O N

A little spice with big potential! ✨

Cinnamon is more than just a delicious spice — scientific studies show that cinnamon may favourably influence several cardiometabolic 💓 markers when consumed in realistic amounts of just 1–2 tsp per day.

📊 What the research shows:
Modest reductions in fasting glucose, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, and small increases in HDL cholesterol have been reported. Effects are strongest and most reliable in people with metabolic concerns.

🌿 How it may help:
• Improves glucose uptake from blood into cells
• Supports healthy cholesterol metabolism
• Acts as an antioxidant to protect your body

So, how might you use cinnamon?
Sprinkle it on oats, yogurt, smoothies, or coffee ☕
Or ask about my banana muffin recipe!

Cinnamon is more than a tasty spice — it can support your body in small but meaningful ways.

Small choices add up, and every little yummy step counts 🌿

What supplements are you taking right now? 💊

Take a moment to pause and really look at them…

🤔 Do you know what each one is actually for?
⁉ Have you noticed any changes in your body since starting — good or not so great?
🤷🏼‍♀️ Is it doing what it’s meant to be doing?
😖 Any unwanted side effects (hello, digestive upset 👀)?

If you’re starting something new, try introducing one at a time, ideally spacing them 1–2 weeks apart. This makes it so much easier to notice what’s helping… and what’s not.

It’s also worth asking:
🙃 Is this providing meaningful benefit, or just band-aiding symptoms?
😑 Do the benefits disappear as soon as you stop taking it?

If so, there may be underlying factors that need attention.

Supplements can absolutely have their place — but they’re usually best used short term, while we work on the bigger picture.
Because long-term change?
That comes from diet 🥦, lifestyle 🌞, and understanding your body 🫶

So before you buy the next “quick fix”…
consider a different approach.

The role of a Nutritionist isn’t simply to prescribe more supplements.
It’s to provide education and guidance, so you feel confident making informed decisions about your health — without falling for clever marketing or one-size-fits-all solutions.

If you’d like support to simplify things and understand what your body actually needs, feel free to reach out or book in 🌱
