Andrew Parsons, IPC President, said: “Brisbane 2032 presented arguably the most integrated Olympic and Paralympic bid we have ever seen, underlining their commitment to staging spectacular and sustainable Paralympic Games in 11 years’ time.

“Brisbane 2032’s vision excites me greatly as there is clear desire for the Games to be successful beyond sport and to make a real difference in Australia and beyond. The Games aim to be a catalyst to drive social inclusion, aligning nicely with the Sustainable Development Goals and the host region’s long-term accessible tourism strategy. There is also an ambition for the Games to foster greater sport participation, advance physical and mental health and facilitate greater employment opportunities.
WELL DONE BRISBANE!

COVID- 19 restrictions have created opportunities for peer groups and families to connect and meet in different ways. Online and offline, people with like-minded interests are communicating and sharing. Support groups have been moving to video-calls. Virtual coffee catchups are in. We also highlight FriendLine, a phone service for a chat.

For some People with Disability, this is not a new idea. They have been using the internet to stay connected long before 2020 and coronavirus. It is the unique ways that people are connecting, and the creativity involved that makes it exciting.
