It is sad to hear of the passing of Professor Richard Scolyer. In his time in this world, he brought hope to so many through his groundbreaking research in skin cancer and melanoma.

We hope his unrelenting dedication to his clinical work, his courage in facing cancer as both a patient and researcher, and his love for his family, colleagues, and patients inspire all of us to follow our passion, vision and live out our values to make the world a better and kinder place.

Professor Richard Scolyer, you’ll always be remembered as the outstanding “everyday Aussie who gave it a crack”, words you left us that goes without saying.

: Professor Richard Scolyer has died aged 59 after a remarkable fight against the 'worst of the worst brain cancers'.

The 2024 Australian of the Year leaves a legacy of fast-tracking revolutionary cancer treatment by becoming "patient zero" for an experimental treatment.

One of the world's top melanoma pathologists, Professor Scolyer and his colleagues took everything they had learnt about fighting melanoma and adapted it to brain cancer treatment.

It resulted in valuable data that showed how immunotherapy could be used for brain cancer – a cancer that has not had any development in treatment for almost two decades.

"I hope this has the power to transform how we treat all cancers, to think big and be courageous.” - Professor Scolyer.

Handed a prognosis of six months, Professor Scolyer kept his cancer at bay for 22 months using the trial treatment before the glioblastoma returned in March 2025.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Adventures Preschool for welcoming us to provide a Flu and COVID Vaccination Clinic for your educators. 💙

Keeping educators healthy is an important step in helping protect the children in their care, the centre community, and the wider community during the winter season.

🍟🐟 Have you met the new owner of Carlingford Fish & Chips yet?

Meet Alan!

We recently popped in for a little sticky-beak and to introduce ourselves and one thing immediately stood out was how much Alan genuinely cares about his food and his shop.

When he told us he chose to open on Carmen Drive because it had “soul” and that he believes in focusing on the quality of the food rather than having a huge menu with endless options, we knew he was in it for all the right reasons.

During the soft opening a few days ago, we couldn’t resist placing an order (with special delivery too!).

And the photos speak for themselves! 🤤

The standout for us? The calamari! Absolutely delicious and a must-try.

We love seeing passionate local business owners investing in our community, and we can’t wait to see Alan and his team thrive.

The FREE needle-free nasal spray flu vaccine is now available in NSW for all children and teens aged 2–17 years.

Previously limited to ages 2–4, this expanded access makes flu protection easier and pain-free for more families.

We meet again… almost 50 years later 💕

Did you know Chris was Leanne’s babysitter during her high school years?

Now, fast forward a few decades, and the roles have reversed, with Leanne now looking after our pharmacy when it comes to COVID, flu, RSV, iron, vitamin D, and other testing kits from Touch Biotechnology .

It was such a heartwarming surprise to see Chris and Leanne catch up after all these years.
