New First Nations Connect phone service now open
We have launched a new phone service called First Nations Connect. This service is through the National Contact Centre (NCC).
It is for First Nations peoples and their families, carers, representatives, health workers, and community organisations.
Our culturally trained staff are here to listen and respond with respect and understanding.
What the service does
Gives clear information in a respectful way.
Tries to answer questions on the first call.
Helps callers to feel safe, comfortable, and respected.
What the service does not do
Change eligibility, funding, or claims.
Give faster processing or special treatment.
Replace other ways to contact the NDIS.
Important for providers
First Nations Connect is not a provider line.
Providers must continue to use the existing provider line on 1300 311 675 for all enquiries, including participant plans, payments, and claims.
First Nations Connect (1800 411 640) is only for First Nations peoples and their families, carers, representatives, health workers, and community organisations.
We will ask First Nations people and community partners for feedback. We will also review calls and common questions to improve our services.
This service supports:
the NDIA's commitment to Closing the Gap
Disability Royal Commission recommendations to improve access to culturally safe services
our work to improve the participant experience, service quality, and trust in the NDIS.
Call 1800 411 640 to use this service.
