Today, we recognise and thank first responders across the Northern Rivers for the care, courage and commitment they show our communities every day.

From emergency response and recovery to the vital work that often goes unseen, your efforts make a real difference when it matters most.

We also acknowledge those supporting recovery behind the scenes — energy and telecommunications crews, evacuation and housing teams, and welfare officers whose work helps keep communities connected and resilient.

This work is not taken for granted.

It is seen. It is valued. And it matters deeply.

Today is the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination! 🌈

Why May 17? It was on this day in 1990 that homosexuality was removed from the WHO Classification of Diseases - a historic step towards inclusion. Three decades later, despite how far we’ve come, the LGBTQIA+ community unfortunately still faces discrimination.

Days like today offer all of us the opportunity to visibly stand against discrimination. LGBTQIA+ community and allies alike, today we take action to make the world more inclusive.

This year, we couldn’t be prouder of the massive wave of allyship, pride, and visibility we’ve seen across workplaces, schools, and communities.

To every single person who’s gone rainbow: you have sent SUCH a vital message of hope, support, and safety to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Whether you wore a rainbow ribbon, started a conversation, hosted a fundraiser, shared IDAHOBIT online, or hung up a poster, thank you. Each action contributes to building a more inclusive future.

🎢☀️ Last week the Frangipani Care crew enjoyed an exciting adventure to Dreamworld!

The kids spent the day riding their favourite rides, building confidence, and sharing lots of laughs together. It was wonderful seeing friendships grow while everyone encouraged each other to try new experiences and enjoy the adventure as a team 💛🌈

A fun-filled day with plenty of smiles and unforgettable memories! ✨

🌿 Frangipani Care had another busy and adventure-filled week!

Our kids have been building confidence and having fun while practicing their swimming skills, staying active outdoors, and making the most of every break in the rain ☔🚴‍♂️

From riding together on the e-bikes and scooters, to creative Lego construction sessions, there has been plenty of teamwork, imagination, and laughter along the way. The Labradors certainly enjoyed all the extra attention too — they were happily worn out after plenty of play and walks with the kids 🐾💛

It’s been wonderful seeing friendships grow, confidence build, and everyone supporting each other through all the activities this week. We can’t wait for more adventures ahead! 🌈✨
