When someone you love is struggling, it's natural to focus on them.
You become the listener.
The encourager.
The one checking in.
The one holding things together.
You carry their worries, their appointments, their setbacks, and their hopes. You stay strong because someone needs to.
But in the midst of caring for others, many carers, partners, parents, friends, and support people quietly neglect their own wellbeing.
The truth is:
💚 You are allowed to feel tired.
💚 You are allowed to feel overwhelmed.
💚 You are allowed to need space to process what you're carrying.
💚 You are allowed to receive support, not just give it.
Supporting someone through emotional distress can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally demanding. You were never meant to carry that weight alone.
At Lake Mac Safe Space, we welcome not only those experiencing distress, but also those walking alongside them.
You don't need an appointment.
You don't need to be in crisis.
You don't need to have the right words.
Sometimes you simply need a place to pause, talk, reflect, or sit with people who understand the weight that caring can carry.
If you've been holding a lot for someone else lately, consider this your reminder:
The people who support others deserve support too. You are welcome here.
