In just a few days, I will be leaving Australia for Nepal.
This trip has been planned for a long time, but none of us could have imagined the devastation that would unfold there just before we arrived.
The recent floods have taken lives, destroyed homes and livelihoods, separated families, and left so many people facing an unimaginable future.
And because I am going to be there, I feel very strongly that I cannot simply arrive, see the suffering around me, and do nothing.
So I have been fundraising.
I am taking donations with me to Nepal, and with the help of my trusted Nepali friends and contacts, I hope to make sure that this money reaches people and communities who genuinely need it.
We already have connections with people in areas badly affected by the flooding, and once we are there we will be able to better understand where the greatest need is and how we can help in the most meaningful and direct way possible.
And this is where I would love your help.
You do not need to give a large amount.
$5 matters.
$10 matters.
$20 matters.
When many small acts of kindness come together, they can become something very powerful.
For us, it may be the cost of a coffee, a takeaway meal or something we barely think twice about.
For somebody who has lost their home, their belongings or their livelihood, it may mean food, clothing, medicine, temporary shelter or simply knowing that somebody cares.
I will be sharing updates while I am in Nepal so that those who donate can see where the money is going and the people and communities it is helping.
I do not want to sensationalise people’s suffering or turn their hardship into Facebook content. I simply want those who have trusted me with their donations to know that their kindness has reached Nepal.
If you would like to contribute - even just a few dollars - please send me a private message and I will send you the donation details.
And if you are not in a position to donate, sharing this post would mean just as much.
Nepal has given me so much over the years - friendships, experiences, lessons and a deep love for its people.
This time, I would like to arrive carrying a little bit of love from Australia back with me.
One person cannot help everyone.
But together, we may be able to make life a little easier for a few people who are going through one of the hardest times imaginable.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🇳🇵
Blessings,
Jenny
