How does James like to treat a shoulder? 🤔 When it comes to treating shoulder pain, there’s rarely a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every patient presents differently, so treatment will vary depending on what James finds during the assessment, how the shoulder is moving, and what might be contributing to the problem.

Rather than focusing on just one sore spot or structure, James likes to look at and treat the shoulder as a whole - which is really important to us as Osteopaths. This includes the muscles and joints around the shoulder, shoulder blade, upper back and neck where appropriate.

When it comes to shoulders, it’s often about looking at the bigger picture 🙌 if you have a sore shoulder, consider booking an appointment today at osteoandco.com

What does your body tell us during treatment? 🤸‍♀️ Quite a lot, actually! These are a few common things we notice and explain to patients during their consults.
Every body is different - and these findings don’t mean much on their own. They’re just one piece of the puzzle and are always considered alongside your symptoms, history and the rest of your assessment 🧩

POV: The team reminding me I’m not actually as “go with the flow” as I think I am. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Anyone else relate?

Thankfully, they embrace my love of a good plan (and occasionally remind me to loosen up 😂) I’m so grateful for this kind, patient-centred team. They make our clinic what it is 🧡

Some of you may remember our previous post, sharing that LJ (aka my Mum!) would be stepping back from her admin role to help care for her parents, as they relocate from Phillip Island to Nagambie.

Today, we’re saying a proper farewell.

Mum has been part of Osteo & Co since the very beginning. She helped me set up my very first treatment room at Chelsea Heights Medical Centre, then Wells Road Medical Centre, our rooms alongside the podiatrist under Goodlife Gym, and finally our biggest project yet - creating the beautiful clinic we now call home at 228 Wells Road.

What started as moral support soon became “just a couple of hours on reception,” and from there it grew into so much more. Over the years she’s been our receptionist, clinic photographer, renovator, problem solver (and occasionally the dreaded toilet unblocker!), and the built-in babysitter for our girls whenever they’ve come to work with me. More than anything, she’s been the friendly face our patients know and love, and someone who has helped shape Osteo & Co into what it is today.

On a personal note, Mum - thank you. Thank you for believing in me from the very beginning and for standing beside me through every chapter of this journey. I simply couldn’t have done it without you. This clinic will always have a little piece of you in it 🧡

Many of our OG’s will remember this time. This first photo showed up in my photo “memories” today - taken many years ago. With my tiny baby, while the clinic at 228 Wells Road was built. I stood painting & planting for hours, over several months…which would later be a large contributing factor to why my episotomy wound didn’t heal properly (still giving me grief at 6 months post partum when I finally succumbed to the fact I’d have to go back to my OB and have it reviewed🤯) 🪴 🎨 The love and work that was poured into this place by myself, Baz and my family right as we brought our human baby into the world - was crazy. I often forget how far it’s come over the last 15 years.
This job isn’t just a job- it’s formed so much of my identity (sometimes probably too much) but I’m proud of the community that has been built here at Osteo & Co.

What’s that saying? You can have everything… just not all at once. Looking back, I probably tried to prove that saying wrong. 😂 So if any of my postpartum patients even think about doing what I did… my advice is an emphatic absolutely not. 😂
Please don’t try to bring a human baby and a work baby into the world at the same time. Total madness! 🥴

To everyone who has walked through our doors over the years and keeps coming back, thank you. Every appointment, every word of mouth referral and every familiar face has helped support the little dream of building a community, alongside our wonderful team. I’ll never take that for granted, and I’m forever grateful. Courtney x

James has a couple of appointments still available today before he heads off on annual leave!

He’ll be away until 17th August, so if you’ve been meaning to book in, now’s your chance.

Our other osteopaths will be here as usual while James is away, so we’re still open and available to look after you if you need an appointment over the next few weeks.

Book online via our website or call Leanne on the desk today 97733987, to secure one of the remaining spots before he goes.

🧡 A little update from the Osteo & Co family… This Saturday will be LJ’s last shift on reception for the foreseeable future.

LJ has been part of Osteo & Co since the very beginning, and while we’ll miss having her at the front desk, it’s time for her to step away and spend time with her parents as they make the move into aged care in Nagambie. She’s been clocking up some serious kilometres on the road lately 🚙, so it’s time for her to shift her focus to where she’s needed most.

We’ve been quietly preparing for this transition over the past six months, knowing that both Julie and LJ would be stepping away, and we’re welcoming some fresh faces on the desk.

If you’re in on Saturday, we’d love for you to stop by and say goodbye for now to LJ. ❤️
