CREATINE GUMMIES vs CREATINE POWDER โ LET'S LOOK AT THE DATA ๐
We've had a few people ask lately why we don't stock creatine gummies.
We don't have anything against gummies โ they're convenient, easy to take and plenty of people enjoy them. But before we decide what earns a place on our shelves, we like to look at the data.
So, what's the difference?
Creatine monohydrate is one of the most researched sports supplements available. In its dry powder form, it's extremely stable.
Gummies are a little more complicated.
Creatine can become less stable once incorporated into a water-containing environment. Factors such as moisture, pH, temperature and storage time can affect stability, with some creatine potentially converting to creatinine.
That doesn't mean every creatine gummy is underdosed or ineffective โ formulation and manufacturing quality matter, and some gummies have performed well in testing.
But there have been some interesting results.
Marketplace testing conducted by NOW Foods on creatine gummy products reported an overall 46% failure rate to meet label claims. Several of the gummies that tested below their label claim were also reported to contain significant amounts of creatinine.
Importantly, though, other gummies in the same testing met their label claims, and some tested above them.
So this isn't a case of saying โall gummies are bad.โ
For us, it comes down to simplicity.
Creatine monohydrate powder is:
๐ช Extensively researched
โ๏ธ Easy to measure and dose
๐งช Exceptionally stable in dry form
๐ฐ A simple and generally cost-effective way to supplement creatine
That's why, for now, you'll find creatine monohydrate powder rather than gummies on our shelves at GRUMPY SUPPS.
And our choice is VPA Creatine Monohydrate ๐ฆ๐บ
No gimmicks. No gummy wars. ๐
Just looking at the data and choosing what we're happy to put on our shelves.
