Hi every, Bianca here 🙂

I wanted to say Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there and then I really sat in those words. There are some mothers out there whose children are no longer with them, some are angel babies, some who have been taken, some who were never met with a gentle kiss goodbye. And then there are humans that their mothers have passed and they have no one to hug and thank physically so many different dynamics…..

Instead I want to say, today what ever you are doing, who ever you are with it’s ok to be kind to yourself. Find a moment to breath, to cherish a memory, to shed a tear, to whisper I miss you. If a way to hold them gently in your heart.

For me, today is about being present, no phone distractions, no work commitments etc just totally focused with my whole being for my children.
The pic below is a few years old of my children and my hand. Making a circle that can not be broken and is the foundation of love.

We are excited to announce our new program. We have not set a date as of yet as this will depend on the amount of interest we get. We are going old school and going back to board games!! If you haven't heard of Blood on the Clocktower, definitely go down the rabbit hole and explore it or better yet come join in and attend a session.

Please apply with this link https://form.jotform.com/BrightStarSA/gaming-program-EOI to register your interest. No charges will occur until you sign our service agreement. This just allows us to get some information and for you to jump up and down and say I'm keen!!

What a fantastic and creative idea!! Here at Bright Star we will try to support in many ways and one of those ways is supporting clients with Short Term Accommodation also known as STAs or respite. If you have this included in your NDIS and would like to utilize it, please don't hesitate to reach out and we can see what we can do to make it successful for you.

Thank you to some of our staff who created this visual about sensory overload.

Of course, Sensory Overload is different for each individual, but this allows for some education around the word "Sensory Overload" and some of the triggers one faces within this.

We want to wish everyone a Hoppy Easter but also acknowledge the hard it can be with a long weekend and expectations. As autistics it can be really hard to have script changes, expectations of social events etc so I want to remind you be kind to yourself. It's ok to cancel (even last minute). It's ok to ask for a script of what will be happening, who will be attending, and end time.

We hope you are able to be kind to your nervous system and enjoy the chocolate!

What a great idea!!

“ I know when my son was younger I attended a carers group and I always felt out of place. I was a parent of an autistic child. I didnt do well with the chit chat coffee’s and i would bring colouring tools as everyone spoke. “ Bianca

But what a great idea to have a group that allows you to be your autistic self parenting/supporting an autistic child. To be seen as yourself and feel supported in a space that you get to be yourself in.

It is a free group and is online and in person.
The link is below for the expression of interest! w

The Autistic Caregivers Peer Network starts next month, and you’re invited to join us!

First meeting
Monday 16 February 2026

Online and in-person

The Autistic Caregivers Peer Network is created and hosted by autistic people, for unpaid autistic carers.

This group centres the caregiver’s experience. It’s an adult-focused space to explore the intersection of being autistic and being a caregiver, with peers who genuinely get it.

Monthly sessions include:
📌 Participant-led topics (you help shape the agenda)
🗣️ Practical self-advocacy skills
🎤 Occasional guest speakers

Formal and self-diagnosis are both equally recognised.
