MADE IT MONDAY: Sarah made pants! Sarah came in wanting to make a dupe of a pair of nice flowy wide-leg pants that she had. We went to work, drafting a paper pattern from the existing garment, learning about grain lines, seam allowances and correct placement. She had a lovely duvet cover with a pretty bird pattern she wanted to repurpose, so she proceeded to cut out her pattern, then sew and finish her pants. Well done Sarah! She has already started on her next project: two cute dresses with matching jackets for her grand daughters 😍

Last week, we went back to our costume roots, whipping up a last minute Book Week costume for Nicky's girl, who wanted to be Tinkerbell. Thanks to my huge fabric horde, a copious amount of a variety of green fabrics were sourced and the fun began. Drafted a tank dress pattern on the fly (pardon the pun 🧚‍♂️), dreamed up a pixie skirt overlay, even found a few pearl beads to add to the end of each skirt point, giving it an even more fabulous flair. Not bad for a couple of hours work the day before Book Week parade 😁💚✨️

What's on the planner for today? Dog coats! Using a "Lily Longnose" sewing pattern, we're going to make a mock-up coat for a beautiful pooch to try on before committing to the final material next week. Hopefully my client wants to share a pic of her perfect pup wearing their gorgeous new coat on completion. Stay tuned!
