Your nervous system is always going to be under threat until you change this...
Most of what our nervous system is reacting to are social threats. Fear of being criticised, ridiculed, rejected, not belonging, or not being ‘good enough’ etc. As long as we have our foundations (self-acceptance, self-love, and self-esteem) based or influenced by external factors, then to some degree the nervous system is also going to be detecting threat (Neuroception of unsafety), because we cannot control anything outside of ourselves. We cannot control what other people do, think or feel about us, and it’s also none of our business what other people think or feel about us. So, the remedy and goal to work towards is being self-determining, to be coming from a place of wholeness and self-sourcing, where no matter what is happening outside of us or what social environment we find ourselves in – we’re ok. We’re ok because we are there for ourselves, we’re loving ourselves, accepting ourselves, and bringing to ourselves whatever it is that we need in that moment to stay present, connected and in our natural expansive state of being.
Self-love and healthy self-esteem are at the core of all healing, and this includes nervous system healing. So please have a watch of this week's video and let me know what you think.
