As the seasons begin to shift, many people notice changes within the body before they even realise the weather has changed.

You may feel more tired, emotionally flat, restless at night, tighter through the muscles, more reactive to stress or simply “off” within yourself.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body moves in rhythm with nature. As we transition deeper into the cooler months, energy naturally begins turning inward. The nervous system responds by slowing, conserving and protecting the body through the seasonal transition.

When we continue pushing through stress, overworking, poor sleep or constant stimulation without allowing the body time to adapt, this is often where we begin seeing:

Have you been experiencing constant back pain between the shoulder blades or persistent lower back pain… yet your scans keep coming back “clear”? ⚡️

This is something I hear from clients all the time.

They’ve had X-rays, CT scans, sometimes even MRIs — only to be told nothing is wrong. But the reality is, muscle dysfunction, postural imbalance, fascial restriction, nervous system tension, and chronic muscular overload often do not show up on standard imaging.

Scans are excellent for identifying structural damage such as fractures, disc injuries, or severe degeneration — but they don’t measure how your muscles are functioning, how your body is compensating, or the stress patterns your body has adapted to over time.

Poor posture, repetitive movement, stress, muscular guarding, old injuries, prolonged desk work, driving, and even emotional tension can all contribute to chronic pain and restriction throughout the body.

Autumn is where your body naturally begins to slow, soften, and turn inward.
You might notice it without even realising:

Stress isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it shows up as tight shoulders, shallow breathing, a busy mind that won’t switch off… or that constant underlying feeling that something just isn’t quite right.

Your body speaks long before it breaks down.

When your breath becomes short and rapid, your nervous system stays switched on muscles hold tension, sleep becomes disrupted, digestion slows, and over time this can build into anxiety and deeper dysregulation within the body.
