NDIS Reform Update – What This Means for You
As a registered NDIS provider, Journey Community Connections (JCC) remains committed to delivering safe, high-quality supports, guided by strong clinical and operational governance.
The Australian Government has announced plans to introduce further reforms to the NDIS over the coming years. These proposed changes are focused on:
reducing fraud and poor provider practices
slowing the rate of NDIS cost growth
tightening future eligibility rules
improving quality and oversight across the sector
The announcement also highlighted possible future changes in areas such as:
- Social and community participation budgets
- Plan management and support coordination arrangements
- Provider registration and claims processes
- How future access to the NDIS may be assessed
It is important to note that many of these changes are not immediate. Several proposed reforms will require legislation, consultation, and may be introduced gradually over time.
What this means right now
For most participants, the key message is simple:
Your current NDIS plan and supports do not automatically change as a result of this announcement.
JCC will continue working closely with you to ensure your supports remain aligned with NDIS guidelines and within your available plan funding.
At this stage, further detail is still to come about how these reforms will work in practice, who they may affect, and when they will be implemented.
What we are doing
At JCC, we are actively monitoring these developments and reviewing what they may mean for our participants and services.
Our focus is to:
- Keep participants and families informed in clear, plain language
provide reassurance and reduce unnecessary stress

- Support participants to understand changes as they are confirmed
- Maintain strong professional governance and oversight in all services
Our message to participants and families:
