The teaching that really hit home for me this week…
Viveka - Discernment. The quiet wisdom that lets us see clearly. This is the teaching moving through our Winter Sadhana this past week, and it feels like it landed right on time for me.
Because this week, my body made me stop.
This pregnancy has me in a season of forced rest - no teaching, no holding space, just slowness I didn’t choose but am trying to surrender to.
And underneath the surrender, there’s been a quieter question running, can I tell the difference between fear and intuition right now?
The mind wants to spiral.
It compares, it predicts, it worries about what could potentially go wrong, what missing out means, what’s next. Processing all of the external noise straight through the nervous system.
But viveka isn’t about silencing that voice, it’s about not handing it the wheel. It’s pausing long enough to ask is this fear talking, or is this the still, steady knowing that’s actually looking out for me and bub?
I’m learning to keep my nervous system quiet enough to hear that second voice. To let rest be information instead of a threat. To trust that this slowness is its own kind of practice, maybe the hardest one yet (for me).
I miss Sol so much. I miss the space and the connections. But I love that they have been showing up for me in and outside of the physical space we share in the true sense of community.
I’m choosing to see this pause not as an ending, but as its own returning & remembering and I’ll be back, moving and teaching alongside you all again, when it’s time.
Until then, one conscious breath. Out of fear, into intuition..
Is this true? Is this helpful? Does it move me toward peace? Is this my voice or an external projection?
Taking in the information given and letting it sit with my intuition.
That’s the practice right now.
